A Kawai CN301-es modelljében a Responsive Hammer III mechanikát használják.
Ez egy igen különleges, rugó nélküli kalapácsmechanika, kiegyensúlyozott alkatrészekkel, hogy a hagyományos zongora billentéséhez legjobban hasonló játékélményt és kifejezőképességet kapjuk. Ehhez társul a leütést érzékelő "Tri Sensor" kontaktus, Ez utóbbi finomabb repetíciós képességet, az elengedett billentyű esetében pedig természetesebb lecsengési karaktert, a kiváltási pont szimulációval együtt pedig részletezőbb pianissimo játékot biztosít a hagyományos dupla érintkezős elektronikákkal szemben.A CN301 igen kiváló Kawai zongorák digitalizált hangmintáit szólaltatja meg rendkívüli dinamikával és élethű hangzással. Ehhez nagyban hozzájárul a beépített 4 hangszórós Onkyo hangrendszer is.
A használatot egyszerűvé és áttekinthetővé teszi a beépített OLED kijelző.
A hangszerhez Bluetooth kapcsolattal is társíthatunk eszközöket, illetve az azokon futó kompatibilis alkalmazásokat.A hangszer fekete, rózsafa és fehér színben kapható.
